Mountain King VS California King
I am ordering one of the two tomorrow!
I will PROBABLY go with the Chihuahua Mountain Kingsnake though.
The California King is Albino High White though.
I am looking to breed in the future, so, in your opinion, what would be the best to get into?
Thanks,
B.U.

Whatever one you like the best is the one you should go with!
Really, there is no other answer If you like cal kings more then you should order one. If the colors of the mountain king are something you personally like more, than your answer is again clear.

From a breeding perspective, cal-kings are a dime a dozen. Even albinos are pretty common. Since you asked, I'd go with the CM King. Post pics when you get it.

Truely successful LONG TERM breeders work with what they love. Although I see your point, Mountain Kings might be around less, but the price is hardly different. Both species can be had for under 200 even for the best specimens.
There are breeders out there who work with nothing other than corns, but because they focused on what they love years ago and stuck with it no matter how much they are "worth" they now have better qaulity stock with well known lines others just can't compare to. Meaning they are succesful because they stuck with what they love instead of switching focus everytime the market changes.
Just my two cents. Working with what you love before ANYTHING else will get you further in the long run, especially with like minded indivuduals.

Just to let you know, if your going to be breeding one of the other, I would go with the cali king b/c baby mountain kings will probaly need lizards to start off with, while baby cali's will eat pinkie mice.
Just a though, like Mary said "Get what you truly love"

I'd go Mtn King, CKs are a dime a dozen & don't sell as well as the rest of the "common colubrids" & the Mtn Kings are much more impressive IMHO. I breed both & other than the offspring of the Mtns being finicky eaters in the beginning, they are much more "admired" by those that come over & see both. 9/10 people don't want a baby CK because they are way too nervous & flighty as well as the biting & musking. None of this from the Mtns. Mtns eat just fine once they decide too. Usually they will start off on unscented live pinkies within the first 6-8 weeks & don't look back once started. Mtns also take up less room & eat much less as well. They just require some patience in the beginning. Mark
