What's the difference?
I'm fairly new to snakes, and got my corn 8 months ago. I've been looking at the tree snakes, and I'm wondering if anyone could tell me the differences between Emerald tree boas and Green tree pythons? I mean, what are the differences in temperament, size, coolness, attitude, color, habitat, price, and so on.
Feel free to rave about your favorite! I just love the way they perch and don't seem to mind being in the open. I only see my corn out at night, otherwise he hides a lot.
Thanks for the info and your time!
Thrush

First of all...theyre two TOTALLY different species.
As for the others, I am not sure. But I see Emeralds go for alot more than GTPs usuallly. Also I hear both have bad temperaments, but I hear it more for ETBs.
As for color...just go search soem pics, although the GTPs go through a HUGE color change, its quite impressive.
I like the look of the ETB alot more, but I couldnt say which I would rather have. I have never handled either, only saw in display.
THANKS,

Thanks, I know they're different species, and as a side note, I was also wondering what the large, overall general differences are between Pythons and Boas?

One is that bos give live birth while pythons lay eggs. I think that there are a few exceptions. Not sure about that.

I would check out the Viridis forum about GTP's and General Boas should have you covered about the ETB's. A friend of mine had a ETB and he said that it is a nasty bugger. I doubt that anyone would argue that neither species would be for beginners, maybe not even for intermediate keepers. I love the look of either snakes though but I'll stick to looking at pictures for the time being
