Question Canon Powershot question... can I change my card between cameras to download?

I have a Canon Powershot A40 as of current. I have lately been unable to download any movies I have taken, only pics. So I have all these videos stuck on there, but they won't download. At first I thought it was my computer or the software, but I've wiped out my computer a few times due to spyware, as well as reloaded the programs, and most recently borrowed my mom's S30 to download (successfully) movies. I was wondering if it was possible to put the card in a different model, such as her S30, to download my movies?

How do you usually download the movies?

I have the same camera. What I do, is plug in the camera, click on "My Computer" and you'll see the A40 there. I click on it, and the movies are there. I then copy and paste to my desktop. I do not use the software they provide.

Maybe this will work for you if you aren't using this way already. If you are, I have no clue if you can change card.

Yup... use Windows Explorer, not the Canon software. I have a lot of experience with Canon equipment, and what I've learned is, their hardware is great... their software sucks donkey butt. When you plug in your camera, Windows 2000 or XP will add it as a drive under "My Computer". As Marisa suggested, just copy and paste the raw file from there.

Yep! You could even put the card in a $20 compact flash card reader and it would transfer the movies, as well as erase them and format the card. Piece of cake.
