Chameleon Not Drinking

Hey -

My new veiled cham is going GREAT lately. He eats so much it's amazing. However, he's not drinking at all. I mist him 2 - 3 times a day and I often have a dripper going. I see no physical signs of dehydration. His eyes aren't sunken or anything like that. But he I go catch him sometimes with his mouth open... not gaping as if he's over-heating, just slightly open a little. But when I mist him, he doesn't drink. Any ideas?

That's what I'm hoping. That's why I try and keep the cage pretty well misted and leave him alone right after I mist him.

Yep, veileds let their guard down when they drink as it is harder for them to keep an eye out for predators as they focus on the drinking. I never saw my female veiled drink for a year and a half after I got her, but the fact that she's alive makes me think she's drinking pretty well. Like you said, just keep an eye on her, well, eye, and that they don't sink in.
