the cute couple --- black bloods
During cleaning today I took out both black blood pythons for a couple of pics. The male (Midnight) continues to gain weight and still has a great temperament. My new female (Onyx) has settled in nicely and is eating like a machine now. She has gained weight and is growing nicely. He is now over 4600 grams (10 pounds) and 3350 grams (over 7 pounds) for her. Onyx will not be ready to breed this year as I want to put alot more weight on her so next year should be alot of fun.
One thing I did find out during my little photo shoot is that handling two thicker snakes at one time takes a bit more out of you...hehe
Enjoy the pics ...

Hey Tony,
What's going on here, man are you trying to get me jealous or something. LOL! Well, you've succeeded. They are absolutely stunning. Which one is the she, and which one is the he. I am going by the size of the animals and am putting my money on the darker of the two, as being the male. One more question, where did you acquire these guys from? Good luck with them and any future breeding.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
No waiting list yet Ken, need to get these guys to size first!
Angel, both blacks are from Grant VG however he was not the breeder. Although both captive bred, they have switched hands a few times so it is unknown as to who bred them. Though it was the two different U.S. breeders. The male is the black head while the female is the "chrome head".
btw You helped me by giving me Jeff Hartwig's name. He has answered some questions for me already.
Angel, what weight are you going to breed your males and females at?
Thanks.

Hey,
Very nice! I remember that male, from last year or was it 2 years ago? Hmm! scratches head. At any rate, I fell madly in love with that male and remember GV, telling me that he was already sold. Great find! As for breeding weights, I would only breed males any females at these corresponding weights: F-15-20Lbs. M-12Lbs or better. These weights can usually be gained in 3 years of good growth and on a good feeding schedule; although, smaller bloods have been bred successfully.

What do you mean "No waiting list yet", Tony? As soon as you have eggs, I'm going to be camping out right next to your incubator! Don't worry, I don't snore too loudly.
