Stupid Question..

Hey guys,
This is probably asked alot but I checked and around quickly couldn't find an answer to it so here goes... What does BCI and BCC? and what is the difference in their adult size? Also if anyone could maybe post a pic of either their BCI(??) or BCC(??), just so I can tell the two apart.
Thx alot
Kayla

BCI= Boa Constrictor Imperator

BCC= Boa Constrictor Constrictor.

BCC Boas are refered to as the true red tail boas.

BCI boas included but are not limited to Colombians and a few insular (island forum) boas like the Hog Island Boa.

BCC boas included but again are not limited to the Guyanise or Guyana, Suriname, Colombian and the Peruvian.

Adult size is normally about the same. BCC have the potential to get bigger than BCI but I have not seen very many that actually do.
If you want to see what any of the look like just type the name (Suriname Boa Constrictor) into a search engine and you'll see all kinds.
Cheers,
Trevor

their size ranges overlap, but on average a bcc is bigger. most of the dwarf boa locals are bci (nicaruagua, honduras, central america, hogg island). bci are very variable from local to local and probably should be split into separate subspecies. Bcc have much brighter red tails, and a lower saddle count. bci are much more common in the hobby, and if someone is selling a boa and does not know the subspecies, it is most likely a bci. there are wild intergrades however, in eastern columbia. i dont have any pics, but if you are trying to id a specimen, post a pic and i can help.
