Thermostats and other heating related q's

I am currently in the market for two thermostats and having a very hard time making a decision as to which ones I'll purchase. So what better place to get help than here?

The first thermostat I am looking for must have the ability to heat multiple cages, thus requiring multiple temp probes I will be using it to control radiant heat panels in Vision style cages. Two cages for now, and hopefully sooner than later, 4 in total. All cages would be being kept at the same temperature (same species in all 4). I would also like to have a programmable night drop as well, although I imagine I'd have to rig up a day timer or something to make that happen.

The second thermostat that I require can be more basic, for I need it to only control 6' of 11" heat tape in a single rack. Once again though a programmable night drop would be nice.

Any reccomendations?? What are you guys/gals using?

Also any reccomendations as far as type of heat panel to get would be greatly appreciated as well.

Hah, one more question then I'm done....

Where in Canada preferable Ontario can I purchase heat tape?

Sorry for the lengthy post, but it's much easier to keep track of one thread heh.

Thanks in advance for all response.

No replies?? I know that many users on this board are currently using high end thermostats for their enclosures, and before getting those thermostats would have done research into all available products. I am just asking that a few of those with experience ito nform me as to what thermostats they use and how they like them?? And also hopefully point me in the right direction as to where I can find thermostats that meet my requirements.

I don't think Grant is selling those anymore, atleast he wasn't last time I tried to buy one. You can try GCSReptiles. I can't post the link because it is on www.king snake.com and the url gets ******** out. I got a thermostat off them, haven't set it up yet, but it is the same kind that Grant was selling.

You can also try Helix(sp?) I'm not sure of their web site.

Ah thanks, that is what I was looking into but after contacting Grant, found that there are none available at this time. As soon as I saw that I knew it would be perfect for the 2 (soon to be 4) display cages. Pricey however. I have recently read about one called the "herpstat". Anyone using theses?? If all else fails I guess I'll have to fork out for a big apple for each cage, although I will do everything possible to avoid that. Anymore reccomendations?
