CITIES Number

Hi all, I am looking for the Ontario CITIES office phone number. I need to get a permit to bring my Ball Python into the USA and then back into Canada. Does anyone have it handy. Thanks

As far as I know you can't do that. Once its in the US legally, you'll need to apply to the US dept of the interior(USF&W) to get an export permit to take it back out of the US. Those permits can take 3 months to get and will be mailed to a US address if approved.
Both transactions will require a USF&W inspection on the US side. You'll need to book that inspection a couple days in advance, and the cost is 55US (usually more for CITES)
Also our Ontario CITES administrator is Mr. Andrew Taylor and he is on vacation for a month.

I hate to say it, but it simply isn't practical to take CITES animals on vacation or even to US shows unless you make plans to leave any you can't sell, because permits are one way only.

If you're going on vacation it's best to find a baby sitter

Whoa, a user from Trenton.

I used to live there. It was such a hole I thought even data had a hard time escaping Hello from the outside world

edit:

And then I recognized the list of pets Not someone new. So data really only escapes from there if you live on the fringe

wait.....i didn't think ball pythons were cites animals? I guess I never checked cuz I figured I'd never be bringing any to/from another country....

I was going to ask this question in a topic but i'll put it on here, is there a proper (complete) listing of all cites reptiles? I need to know if I can bring a frilled dragon over without huge hassle.

A website or file with the cites list would be wonderful, thanks to anyone who can help

Of course they are...every single Boa and Python is CITES listed as are all Iguanas, tortoises, crocodilians, monitors and day geckos. Most are appendix two, but some are even appendix one

This link may help too.... go about half way down to were Reptilia starts

I am leaving Ontario for 6-8 months for work, and was going to bring her with me so my girlfriend does not have to look after her.

well, everything i checked says that frilled dragons are not on any bad lists...... so if i get a good deal on one at the daytona show, i think I would just have to pay for a plain old live animal inspection. yay! i think..... just watch, i'll get hassled at the border. argh!
