Partial shed....

Last month, my juvenile South Florida Kingsnake needed my help to finish his shed. I thought I made sure to get it all. Since then he has done a complete shed. I noticed today, however, that there is what looks like old skin on the very tip of his tail.

How can I get rid of this? I tried to pick at it, but it didn't come off easily and I didn't want to do him any harm. I have sprayed the walls of his container to raise the humidity.

Any help would be appreciated.

soak a pillow case in luke warm water, take it out, put the snake inside the pillow case and tie the end off and put it on the floor. Let the snake crawl around inside the pillow case for 30 minutes and take him out.. the shed should be gone.

I'll give it a try. I hope it works. It's a very small piece.

Thanks.

Woo Hooo! It worked! I had to hold the tip of his tail after I took him out of the bag but the old skin came right off.

Thanks Jeff. This little guy is probably my favorite snake too. I'd hate to have him lose part of his tail.
