Awesome find Brent. You don't have adoption fee's there? Here, when you adopt from say PetsMart, there's adoption fee's.

Yep, they've gone to a good home You gonna keep some for breeders?

yeah, last time i got something from there they made me sign a form that said i wouldn't use it as snake food..... which i did that night anyway..... ha!

but really, i had one just like that, had those biege hooded babies that i really liked.... but they were vicious as hell! all the rats i had were fine except those suckers, they always grew up to be biters......

anyway, at least pet stores are good for something sometimes!

I dont think that any will be used as breeders, a a friend has two females that we will breed on occasion, and I have two females, plus this new one.

I think that I'll gas and freeze the little males to rid the smell, and then grow the females up a little bit.

Oh, no adoption fees that I know of... (Leighton picked them up as I was out of town camping this weekend)

the employee that gave them to me was teh same guy that sold me 2 frozen rats 2 hours earlier....after the female employee left and he was loading them, under his breath he says, "so, uh, what kinda snakes do you got?"

it was quality.com

Justin, that's odd that they'd have you sign a form to take the rats home. After all, they'd be just as likely to whack or freeze some to feed new arrivals too.

Was it just the one staff member insisting on the form?

Have to order some frozen critters today. The rat racks had the kibosh put to them by the S.O. She would prefer I buy frozen rather than be butchering rats in the garage all the time. I knew her fondness for rats was going to be an issue

ummmmmm, no. albinos are pure white with red eyes.

beige/white are normal hooded rats with those colours.

Cruciform: yeah, i had to sign a form at...... i think it was petsmart..... when i got a gerbil from them. I found it odd too, considering that when some kid is getting paid $7/hour, they don't give a crap what happens to the stuff they sell..... heh

Heh, one of my good buddies is doing his masters in bio at UBC, and the research project he's working on dumps out about 20-50 mice and the same number of rats each week, all humanely euthanized with CO2. Too bad my ball python is still a few months away from being big enough to take the size of rat they dispose of. Once he is big enough though, I'd be happy enough to grab a few extras for anyone who lives in Vancouver, as long as you come get them right away.
