Breeders in Alberta?

Are there any corn snake breeders here in Alberta?

There are several people here who breed corns, myself included. Annette (Wrapped up in Reptiles) and Mark Isbell (Gone Snakee) are a couple big breeders who post here frequently and Annette has a breeder listing in the classified section here. Both have tables regularly at the shows in Alberta.

Next big show is in Red Deer - end of August - Walter sponsors it - there are a few posts about it here in the forums - best show in Alberta (just my opinion) - definately the place to connect with some breeders here - Best of luck locating what you are looking for.

Thanks Mary,
Mary is right there are many breeders around and lots of people that only have a few corns but still breed them for the fun of it. There is always a large selection of corns at the shows.
There is show info at

I'm waiting on some corn eggs to hatch myself as well, hopefully by the time the Red Deer show is upon us.

Corns?

How often do you breed? What size cage should they be in at the min?

Most breeders will have clutches hatching in May through early July, and some breed again the same year, so they have more corns in September. Each clutch can vary with up to a couple dozen eggs - so lots of babies for people who have many females bred.

Young corns do well in a cage that is about 12" by 24" by at least 6" high. At maturity, they are quite active snakes and will use as much space as they can get. Our yearlings are in cages that are 24" by 18" and our adults are in 36" by 18" floor space. They will use even more space if they have it, but most of their wandering is in the evening, so they spend much of the day curled up in their hide area.

I've got a female whom I'd consider breeding. I'm in Calgary.

I got it from a woman named Amanda (I think)? Anyways, she bred her cornsnakes and sold the offspring.

I'm sure mine is still immature, but when the time comes I'd do it.
