more questions....

Does the number of times a snake sheds due to how much it is eating...growing...etc? Mysnake shed twice in less than 3 weeks. Am I doing something wrong or is this ok? Also, when I noticed him starting to go into shed, I raised the humidity to 80%, how many days should I keep it that high?...if until he is done, how long should it take for complete shed? Sorry so many ?'s....I just want to make sure I know what Im doing wrong or right...(I love my baby...lol)

Shedding is caused by growth and by hormones. Yes, babies shed faster because their rate of growth is immensely more.

you can keep the humidity up around there untill your snake sheds, it won't do any harm..

Also you will see your snakes eyes go cloudy, and then they will clear up to normal in a couple to few days, and once the the eyes clear back up, your snake should shed anywhere from 2-5 days after that..

hope this helps you some.

From the start of it's eyes going grey, to shed is 10-12 days more or less. I've also noticed that snakes with injuries will shed more often than those who are normal. I had a male with belly burn a few years back and he shed every 3 weeks until he had healed.

Thanks for the help, guys...If you had seen my past post on shedding, my snake shed in pieces and I didnt want that to happen again. I dont normally notice his eyes getting grey, but more I notice his face turning "blue-ish"....Thats when I increased humidity and his shed did seem to do better this time but it still wasnt in one full piece. I think what I might be doing wrong is not increasing humidity soon enough...although I didnt expect him to shed again so soon. Ya live and learn, I guess. I am going to watch for sheds more carefully now that I know he could shed more often than I thought. I did notice that after this last one, his colors are more bright goldish-yellow..he is gorgeous!!! Its kinda exciting to see how he changes. He is my first snake so all these little things are so fun for me (maybe Im a freak...lol)...My new mission is to get his next shed in one piece...Wish me luck..Thanks again...
