Four eggs?
I was away for a couple days this week at the Reptile Expo, and while I was there my sister called me to tell me that my female crested laid FOUR eggs.
I came home today to see for myself and I have four eggs, three viable eggs and one slug-looking egg.
I'd just put her in with the male about a month ago after a 'break' from breeding. She's the only female in the cage.
Has anyone else seen this happen before?

What? You only have one female and you got four eggs?
I thought I was good getting two eggs every 3-4 weeks. I need to hire you to come down here to KC and take care of my Cresties.

Well I think you should hire me too! You can pay me in cresties
I've never even had another adult female crestie...its very strange :\ They aren't old or anything, they're all brand new and nice, except for that slug.

Hey...if I can pay you in Cresties, it's a deal.
I have absolutely no idea. When was the last time you checked for eggs? Unless she's got four ovaries (and two you know whats..lol), she probably laid them a couple weeks apart. She may be popping them out every two weeks (it does happen) and you just missed a clutch.

I'm with Anthony here. If she did lay 4 eggs at once, she would have been immense. Her size would surely have had you wondering if there was something wrong. One of my females will lay a clutch off schedule. The best way to tell if she really laid 4 this time around is to wait for them to hatch. If there's more than a week between the first two and the last two, you'll have your answer.

Where did she lay the eggs?
If it was in a container full of coco bark you might have missed 2 while you were skimming through it.

Thanks guys. Thats probably the answer. She may have retained from before I seperated them, and she was definately not huge before I left.
She is usually quite obvious with her digging for a few days before laying though, and I didn't see any...my sister also maintains that she saw at least 3 laid.
She laid them in the plant she always lays them in.
We'll just have to see when they hatch

Three the same day???
Does your sister...um...uh...smoke?
Seriously, this would be really weird...it would also be good really info for a new Cresty book that's being written right now as well.
I've heard of Cresteds laying every ten days, but that's pretty much the record.
Heather, if you do find that the three (or four) were laid within a few days of eachother, would you let me know?

LOL.
My sister SWEARS she watched her lay them. She called me about the slug egg first, and said she was still laying. The next day she called me again and said she laid three more.
They're in the incubator now, and hopefully they'll hatch. I'll definately let you know

OK...this is really weird.
The only way it could get any weirder is if you hatch two albino Cresteds out of each egg. lol
Then, I'm really going to hire you.
