Not sure what the prices are down there -- but you're bound to pay more in a petstore than from a breeder -- and you're also more likely to end up with an animal with SOME kind of nasties...
Personally I'd try to find a reputable breeder in your area -- or one elsewhere that's willing to ship, which most of them are.
Up here -- from a breeder, you pay anywhere from $90-150 for a hatchling, depending on colour (brighter colours are more). In a petstore, you'd pay $150-250... Just remember that those are in CDN money
