Not all constrictors are giants. Look at sand boas or rosy boas, or garters even.
Cheers,

I thought that snakes all fall into those two categories? Kings and Corns are still constrictors wich I believe you can have in Sask. You can't have Boids (pythons and boas) or Venomous but I'm sure Colubrids are ok, but they are egg layers (sorry not up to speed on the scientific term for that).

I'm just wondering why the subject line of this thread required a "HELP!!!" This question does not seem like something that is an emergency.

Well I am sorry about the title but I thought that it might attract a little attention and I am going out of town tomorrow to buy some snakes and I wanted to know what my options were. Sorry again

All Boids as you already apparrently know are permit only in SK & by constricters you were refering to Boas (I'll assume). All snakes that are not Venomous by rights "constrict" their prey or otherwise hold it or whatever to "whack it" prior eating. Anyhow as far as live bearing other than them I'd suggest Garter Snakes but I am unfamilair with which ones you would be allowed to keep. I'd check with Ryan & Sheila (SCALES ZOO & Retic chic on here) as they are from there & much more knowledgeable in reguards to the local laws etc. I'm assumming that you want something that bears live so that you can attempt to breed it & not have to worry about eggs? There are lots of Colubrids that are easy to keep, breed & incubate their eggs successfully too & they lead to more experience in reguards to the whole overall herping experience than something that is live bearing. IMHO Mark

Garters of all species are utterly legal in SK. Might want to look into other Natricines such as Nerodia sp.

Why don't you do a little research on some snakes before going out and buying a snake and just throwing it in a cage without knowing it's caging requirements, heating, and feeding habbits?
ESPECIALLY if you are breeding them!
I am sure there will still be snakes out there that you can get if you don't get them tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help guys. I didn't end up getting ne thing BECAUSE I havent done enough research. Besides I kind of wanted to know some stuff about different kinds of snakes before I went there to take a look at them. This way I could really decide whether I liked them or not.
