Talking Finaly count, 30 good and 2 slugs!

I think she's finally done. It took two of my egg boxes to hold the whole clutch. This was from my hypo motley x anery het hypo pairing.

Thanks for looking,
Trevor

Very nice clutch!!!
30 eggs and 2 slugs~
that's a job well done for the female~
remember to give her a great little treat for her hard work. I would bet that she was really uncomfortable with all those eggs inside her~

My record was 33 with my hypo female bred to another hypo (don't think that guy is a regular hypo...)

so you're almost there in beating my record~

Hum !!!

I'm at my fisrt experience, so bare with me

I got 2 clutchs and the egges were all in a pack.

Yours are individual... did you separate them ? How ?

If so, did I need to do that as well ?

Thanks.

WYZ, You don't need to separate them. They will hatch fine in a clump.

Nice clutch, Trev. My girl gave me 30 this year as well!

Yes (some not all)

How ?
Very carfully. ( By rolling them.)

No. ( Best to leave them alone.)
As long as the eggs are removed shortly after being laid they can be seperated by rolling them very gently apart, not pulling or tugging but by rolling. Care should be taken to make sure the eggs are placed right side up, the way they were laid, into the egg box.
However, there is no need to seperate them at all and they will hatch just fine if left in the clump. The only real advantage is that you can easily remove any bad eggs and manually pipe ones that need it.
Hope this helps,
Trevor

Thanks guys !

I did separate 2 of them when I took out the clutch because they didn't look to good, so I wanted to be sure that they were appart from the clutch.

And I did find it to be something that need to be done with LOTS of care So I was hopping I didn't have to do that with all of them.

thanks again.

WYZ

Country:
You'll find that even later in incubation that the "dead or bad" ones seem to become easily seperated & removed from the clutch or so it seems.
I had a clutch of 37 or 38 last year from a striped Corn, all but 4 were slugs though & of the 4 one hatched on its own & it & the others that died in the egg were all malformed & the one hatchling later died at Mary V's (not meant to be apparently). I beleive it had to do with excessive inbreeding (not by me of course!) of the snakes I was working with??? Things will be different I hope this year. Anyhow Trevor Nice big healthy looking clutch! CONGRATS & Good Luck incubating! Mark
