Reptile Art Question...
Hello all... I was wondering if those of you who go to the reptile shows could tell me if there is usually much artwork for sale. I am mostly interested in snake paintings. I've seen what was for sale at Kingsnake. Also, do many of the members here do artwork? -Is it for sale? Thank you in advance for any replies. Peace, Emmy

I would sell original drawings and paintings if there was enough of a demand. For now I do custom work for people and companies, later on I may get a table, but it is doubtful as most people there will be focusing on the reptiles more than the paintings.

Also, all of my existing works are for sale, and custom drawings and paintings can be ordered any time.

Thanks for the replies! (: Tim, do you do the photography for your site? Very beautiful photos! -And a wonderful site! Aidan and Tim, I was mostly wondering if when you do snake drawings or paintings whether they are realistic, or fantasy-based, and how detailed the artwork is. From when you said, there is not much of a demand or desire for these pieces, I wonder if there could be a poll about this... Maybe someone would like a portrait of some of their favorite snakes, or maybe people who are in awe of these beautiful creatures, but are unable to have one for whatever reason, would like to have a painting. Who knows... I'm trying to get a feel for whether there is a desire for art in this area. Any feedback whatsoever is appreciated. Peace to all..... Em

Em,
My artwork is custom ordered, if you want fantasy, you get it, and likewise with reality. Detailwise, I will tell you this. I have done drawings that are completely done in dots with a 0.05 mm pen. Also, I have done several paintings of tarantulas which each individual hair has been painted. I have done a self portrait in paint that people have mistaken for a photo. If you would like to know more about pricing and such then just PM me.
Aidan

Thanks for the compliment. All of the photos on my site were either taken by me or my wife.
As far as artwork goes for me, I do it when I can but it's hard to find time these days. I would never claim to be an "artist" when it comes to drawing or painting but I enjoy the time I can commit to it and try to make it as realistic as I can.
I would love to buy some herp artwork. It would be nice to see some art at shows this year...

Tim, just give me a pm and I'm there for ya. Just tell me your budget, whether its a painting or drawing, and such. I can also give out numbers of previous clients if you would like to speak with them on how satisfied they are with my works.
Aidan

Dino used to do artwork but he's disapeared into the wood work. I've photographed artwork (paintings) for people to put online, also I've taken most of the pics on katey and my site (which really needs updating).

Aidan, do you have any of your work online? Would love to see it! You sound like a detail person, and would love to talk more about that. Tim, would it be ok for me to email or pm you a question? Lisa, do you know if Dino had a site also? Thanks again for all of the replies, I knew I came to the right place! Peace, Em

Wow! Your drawings are fantastic! I especially like the corn and the fantasy drawings...very detailed and realistic. Do you do this for a living? The Canadian flag rocks too....very imaginative...That must be a large piece! Can't wait to see your other stuff... You should make a site and sell your works.... you are definitely good enough to do so!
Peace,
Em

I have a part of a site on Arachnomana and when I go to The Ontario College of Art and design I will be having my good friend make me a website. Right now my source of income is paintings and other commissioned works. I you are interested then I would recommend and appreciate a PM or email.
PS, the fantasy drawing is all dots with a 0,05 mm pen.

Fauna Art is free to post art for sale. I haven't had too much interest with the photography I had posted there, but it is still fairly new. If aything it is another free avenue to sell art.
