Boa C. Sabogae are not extinct on pearl island

Hermann Stockelle(sp?) from Boa-constrictor .com has been making bold statements over the past few years that the pearl island boas are extinct on their island, but I have been watching Survivor allstars, and I tell they keep showing shots of boas, that are definately Boa C. Sabogae's. If anybody was watching tonights episode they would have seen a nice pic of one slithering thru the under bush. These are definately the boa that hermann states is extinct in the wild. Maybe because he sell his for $20,000 U.S. a peice, I dont know. But perhaps!

I saw Hermann Sockelle's site and he dose'nt actually say they are extinct. He says that they might be soon if not already. He says this because the only B.c.s fond on the island resently were young subadults. the bigger, I guess, breeding snakes are kild by the locals because they are feared. A none breeding population is,will be soon extinct.
I did'nt see tonights show but they showed a boa a week or so ago and it was to far and the shot to fast to Identify what typ of B.c it was. Also the one I saw las week was a yearling at best, not close to being a breeder.
As for the 20,000 u.s. WOW thats a lot!!

I also saw the boa on Survivor. Unfortuantly I know little to nothing of boas so I cannot speak on which type it was. It was a fairly close up shot though, and definitly a young boa.

But I also read, way back after the first season, that the snakes and other wildlife were planted for filming purposes.

So Survivor is not necessarily proof of anything.

I definatly wouldn't use Survivor as proof of anything. I too have heard that they bring in a lot of the animals you see on the camera.. Although im sure that some of what the encounter out there makes the 'big screen'

Those shots are thrown in for effect, they could have been filmed anywhere, Including a studio.
