Vanishing stripe pattern in corns

Does anyone have photos of the vanishing striped corns that they might share, or any experience with this in terms of when the stripes fade?

This is a 1.5 year old male normal striped that had very pronounced stripes when I purchased him as a hatchling - got him because of his strong yellow tones and uniform stripes from head to tail.

The stripes have gradually faded over the back half of his body - head and neck still striped, but everything else is blended together. I have heard of vanishing stripes occurring in corns but have not seen many pics -

Any opinions??

Good looking stripe!

I have seen the stripe disappear in the posterior part of corns quite often. However the vanishing stripe lose the stripe all the way to the head.

I do remember having a pair of amels that did that too
but I don't remember where they are right now...
if I do find them I'll snap a few shots for you and compare

some people selectively breed to get the vanishing stripes to go away
even when frist born....I think that halloffamereptiles did that to produce the patternless corns~

Great site Katt - those patternless really are the extreme of vanishing stripes.

Simon - would appreciate seeing the photos of those that did have their stripes fade. My adult female has retained hers and I was hoping that the genetics of the two would be compatible - glad to hear that it is likely just selective breeding that results in the greater degree of vanishing and not another gene entirely - hope to bring together a couple lines I have in the future to retain some genetic diversity and didn't want to complicate things!

This guy is still a cutie even if he isn't turning out exactly as I hoped he would.
