Thats really unfortunate.....but at least the snakes are being properly taken cared by being given to a zoo.

There's no guarantees that an animal will be treated well just because they go to a zoo. There's some places with pretty poor conditions out there.

Well I have only visited the San Diego Zoo...and my zoo the Pittsburgh Zoo.
I guess I'm use to nice setups :/

San Diego Zoo I used to watch "News From Zoos" every Saturday morning when I was a kid. That was a great show

Lol never heard of it but they have a very very nice zoo! Very cool reptile exhibits as well! Its a really neat wrap around thing....a giant circle of enclosures!

Thailand zoos can be pretty nasty. A friend came home with a picture of a reticulated python that was kept on a leash in his outdoor cage. The leash started to dig into the snake, and the guy at the zoo poked it to prove it was alive.

BANGKOK, Thailand (March 22) - A man who set a world record by spending 7 days locked up with poisonous snakes has died after a bite from a deadly mamba, a hospital reported on Monday.
Then goes to say:
Wipha said Boonreung's relatives told her that Boonreung was showing villagers a new cobra when he was bitten. He took herbal medicine and a shot of whiskey, and continued with the show until he collapsed, the doctor said.
