Hotmail accounts

I have a questions for you computer gurus out there.

I have an email account through hotmail, for the past 2 days when i first try to sign on it says that it has locked down my account for awhile because too many attempts with the wrong password has been attempted (or some crap like that). I know it's not me entering a wrong password, Is there anyway i can find out whos trying to get into my email account or at least find there ISP.

It's really aggravating i had to wait 2 hours to get into it today then once i did everything seemed fine (i guess they didnt' get through) but then i tried getting into it a few hours later and it was locked up again.

Nope. They will not provide that information without a request by the police, which would require you to make a formal complaint.
As such, the police would not share the info with you either, but only use it in investigating. And since no defacement or actual damage is involved they'd just write it off as a waste of time and money to investigate.

Making a new one is out of the question, i've had this one for quite a few years with no problems. It's really starting to tick me off though, I still can not access it. I don't know why anyone would want in my email unless they are just trying to mess with me.

You have to e-mail hotmail, and inform them of this.

Gino I've been looking for a link to email them but i think i'm blind do you know what the link is???

I also after at least 5 hours tryed to get into it again and it still won't let me. I know there is no way this person is going to get in there, but it's still pissing me off.

I also suggest that as soon as you manage to log in, change your password (unless you feel the password that you currently have is safe enough). Try Emailing abuse@hotmail.com,that Email address is to report harrassment and such, sending an Email there might get you somewhere. Nonetheless, good luck with getting this 'wanna be' hacker off of your back!

Hotmail has been having trouble for the past few days. You are no the only one I heard that has this problem. I think they might have someone trying to hack them. Do not worry it will be fixed in no time.

ya there hotmail has been down and up again for a while, but do you go to www.hotmail.com??? if so then try another way. its to go to www.msn.com sign in and click on hotmail and you get in like normal, my mom was having trouble so i helped her out. A why they can hack your account is by answering the secret question and if they get it right the account is theres, so you have to be careful, and maybe cause you key board is in caps lock, it neve rlets me in if i ahve myne on caps lock, just some suggestions

I have no problems so far getting in via the link in my msn messanger but my oulook client doesn't let me in. The Register reported that Hotmail has had problems all weekend.

Thanks Erin for that link i'll def. use it when i get to work and can sign on through my aol account. I'm not to worried about my password i REALLY doubt anyone will guess it.

Meow thanks for those suggestions, i don't even remember my secret q. answer i doubt anyone else will LOL. (i set it up that way on purpose). I've tried entering it everyway possible, hotmail.com, through my messenger and the main msn page, and it's still the same. Thought about the cap lock thing already and it's not that.

Today is the 3rd day it's been like this, i really hope nobody's trying to get into it or just being an @$$ and trying to block me from it, hopefully it's just msn having problems.

Thanks for everyones help and suggestions and i'll report it as soon as i get to work.

Damn hotmail, I tried e-mailing through my aol account and they wouldn't accept it because it has to be sent through a hotmail account. The frustration level was pretty high today lol. Finally i was able to get into my hotmail account and i don't want to close it at all. The first thing i did was send hotmail an e-mail about it.

well you are on my msn and i see you as away all the time.
so if it is not you some ong got your secret question and changed your pass word. and stay online at all times. cause for the past 3 days you nvere loged off acording to my msn.

Yeah my net passpot works just fine, it's actually getting into my hotmail account i'm having problems with, which that really doesn't make sence. Unless they are only trying the hotmail and not passport, i don't know i'm completly puzzled.
