Question Exo Terra Heater

Hi. I just caved in and bought a Exo Terra subtrate heater, which is basically expensive heat tape. Problem is, my enclosure is made of melamine, and the instructions state use under glass only.
Am I screwed?

Thanks!

Nope, I use them almost exclusively. First, do not stick it to anything. Just place it under what every you want to heat. You can tape it to the bottom your cage so that it can be removed later but do not stick it to anything or it is there for good.
I use them to heat, plywood cages, rubbermaids and glass tanks.
They work great on everything.
To control them I but a cheap extension cord and a light dimmer. I wire the dimmer into the cord and then plug the heat pad into the cord. That way the heat pad is hooked to a rehostate and you didn't have to bucher the cord. I got that idea from Roy Stockwell after about 2 years of cutting the cords on my heat pads.
Cheers,
Trevor
