arowhead plants

i just bought an arowhead plant and i know i sawbefore on a post that arowhead planst are not toxic in captivity am i right? o and creeping figs toxic i dont think they are but does anyone know if they are or arnt

they work awsome. I use creeping fig ANYTIME i can. It is my favorite foliage plant for cages.

ya i just got a couple of them cause i needed a good ground cover for my vorax gecko cage. o and do you know if the arowhead plants are ok. I couldnt understand if you were just talking about the creeping fig

Toxic plants are not really an issue in tanks where the animals will not nibble on them... though there are a few exceptions like rubber plants... though I still know lots of great keepers that use them in larger vivaria.
toxic plants with geckos and frogs are fine... though toxic plants and dragons of any sort of course are not a good idea.

ya they are fine, in fact im using them in my vorax cage as well...Great plant but they can get out of controll. the figs are neat cause they will grow up the branches/walls etc and look quite a bit like ivy does on buildings.

Latin is Ficus pumila...VERY common. Almost any store that carries a house plant carries them. Cheap and grow fast, more light the better.

Here's a "few" hundred of them just starting out this spring....

No, arrowheads (and all Saggitaria sp) vegetatively reproduce by bulblets. Just empty out a pot of an adult plant, and there's like 20-100 dormant bulbs that will sprout up like clockwork in the spring. Just crazy! I have a DOPE arrowhead that's CALICO! Variegated all over its leaves! Tres cool.
