Whoops, looks like you beat me to posting. The A80 would then be out of your price range. For $200-300, look at Gateways cameras. They have a 5-megapixel for $300, but I dont know how good it is. These are $US, by the way. I dont know what the conversion factor would make it.

When buying a digi cam, you should think about what you plan to do the images. If you will mostly be looking at them on the computer or posting them on the web...2 or 3 MP will be plenty and those cameras are getting fairly cheap. If you plan to print the pictures yourself or have them printed...the more Mega pixels your camera...the bigger the image you will be able to print that is very clear. This is how they sell you on these cameras. You might want to print an 11x14 and so you need this many MP.

Most people will rarely need to print larger than 4x6 or 5x7. Even if you do print a large image from a 1, 2 or 3 MP camera...it will look fairly good if you hang it on a wall and step back from it.

The point is, don't be so concerned about how many MP...look for the features that you want.

I like our Sony CD300 Mavica. it's 3.x mega pixal and uses 3" RW cd's for storage. You can pick up 10 cd's for about $20 and just keep re-using them over and over. Megapixal isn't everything to a digital cam. You have to look at the glass used in the lense... if you have cruddy glass you're going to have cruddy pix no matter the megapixal.

hey ive got a panosonic luminx i cant rember the model number for it but its 4 megapixels but when ever it focuses it will go into perfect focus then unfocus its self anyone have any idea's why its doing this

I'm using the a60 and love it. I wish i had had the cash to get the a70 or a80, but funds are tight! Great camera, lots of features ( i just wish i knew how to use them all), good price.
