Question Thing that make you go hummmm????

Ok been thinking about this one for a while and there isn't much on the net that I could find so let see what we can come up with here.
There are many feeder worms that are fed a hormone to stop them from pupating, which makes the worm get larger. Makes sense.

NOW what happens to the reptiles when they are fed these worms?
Do they not become sexually mature, or does it take longer for them to mature?
Wax worms and king worms are fed these hormones to make them bigger. There is probley more but I do know these two are hormone induced.

We have seen this problem with today's young people becoming mature a lot sooner then they should because of all the hormones in today's foods.

Just one of those things that makes you go hummmmm????

Depends on if the hormone can work from the snake's stomach, or if it needs to be injected (intramuscular) or if the hormone type is even remotely the same.

Scary to think about though!

That makes me go hmmmm.

Just kidding. I have wondered the same thing about feeding poultry that has been horomonally altered not to lay a fertile egg, if it would affect the female monitors, crocs and pythons when breeding started. One more reason we dont feed poultry much, I guess.

I don't know about people becoming mature earlier... back in the middle ages people were routinely married at 14 and started popping out kids right away... often even earlier. Then again the average life expectancy outside of the nobility was 30 at the time... But the point is I don't think humans are physically maturing any earlier than they have been.. but the pressures of society are expecting people to act more mature younger and younger these days.

Ok I worded the part about becoming mature earlier wrong. It should have been the younger kids are developing at an earlier age. Kind of like how the dead are taking a lot longer to decay because of all the preservatives that we eat.

Speaking of the dead taking longer to decay, man, before The Matrix, there was a WAY cool movie in 1997 with Kiefer Sutherland (from "24" fame) called Dark City. That movie rocked! Best of all, no religion! heh heh.......j/k

Normaly hormones that go through a digesting process are broken into aminoacids (the basic form of all protein) and don't get rearranged by magic after being consumed again.
Jeff, i saw that movie. I still have no idea what was going on, weird as hell. And those men in black...creepy! But cool.
