belly almost full of eggs..

Roxy turned orange about three weeks ago or so....and unless she has started drinking beer when I am not looking, that's not a beer belly poking out!

She normally lays between march 1st and the end of april. So right on schedual. She is a big baby when she is gravid, like to be cuddled and held upside down and stuff like that but she didn't seem to like the photographs lol.

You can see some "fatness" although its hard to see egg shapes in the photo. We are still early on here though as she is still eating. I assume she will have a large clutch...year before last was something between 30-45 (i cant remember right now) but years passed she has laid as many as 60+ with previous owner. (64 being the record i think for her) Not bad for a 7 year old lady!

Awww! I wish I had a girl for the mushyness at that time of year!

Great pic I would love to see more as she gets fatter!

Pixie- Oh yeah! This year is the first year I have had a digi cam. She is very laid back, and lays on her basking shelf so I should be able to get tons of good photos.

Normally she starts laying in her sleep and I can remove the eggs without waking her. I do not know why she does this, but she rejects any offer of a laying box, yet gets through it fine and dandy each year.

She is doing good! She normally is gravid for what seems like around 80 days or so? Its hard to tell. They say they don't start "showing" until the end but Roxy is normally gravid for about 30-40 days *from* the time I can make out egg shapes...maybe thats because I am miscounting days or because she has large clutches, which means she shows earlier.

She is digging a bit...always wastes time doing that. I have built her boxes, HUGE ones, tiny ones, tried litter pans, everything and every soil/sand mix possible she lays asleep on her shelf so i dont know why she does all the false digging. lol.

Still eating too! So they aren't all that big yet. Will keep posting updates and photos once she gets a bit larger or starts laying.
