Baby boa not feeding.....

I have four baby boas, all being kept under identical conditions in separate cages. Three are doing just fine, one absolutely refuses to eat. I have tried all appropriate sizes of mice and rats, live; fresh killed; frozen/thawed. The little bugg*r is agressive as I've seen and kills anything I offer but has not eaten since the beginning of November. I've been keeping snakes for 30 odd years now, but this guy has me stumped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Just a thought for what it's worth, have you tried lizards?
Cheers,

Thanks for the ideas fellows. I never even thought of lizards, hopefully I won't have to resort to that but it's an idea. I'll try scenting a mouse first.

Chicken broth? That's a new one on this old fa*t, but I'll try it, what the h*ll.

If you are able to get some gecko shed you can stick on the head of a mouse and that might work

Just what I'm thinking Silke, thanks. I have lots of skink poop as well. No geckos anymore though, but I can probably get my hands on some shed skin if need be.

Hay Scotty, try this, put the baby boa in a ventalated container,I use sour cream containers. put a fuzzy mouse or rat in with it and leave it over night or longer. I've had great luck with getting Dumerils and rainbow eating this way.If the pray is active it works better I find.
As for the chicken broth method, I must be the only one it dosen't work for, go figure.

Hey Scotty have you had any sucess yet?
what type of Boa is it? If you are still in the learch let me know I have a few other tricks that might help. This one might just do it try (depending on size) a chicken chick but a quail chick would probably be more corectly sized I know quail would be a tough find but I know some one I can ask (you never know)

Thanks again folks. Sunday is feeding day, I'm stocking the freezer with gecko tails, there's chicken soup in the cupboard and sparrows in the back yard. A handful of bread crumbs, a pellet gun and voila! Lunch. I'll keep you all posted.

30.06 be dam*ned, I've graduated to a .50 Desert Eagle. Little noisy for the yard though.

Scotty, do not forget to remove the pellet as they are made of lead. I use darts myself.

Finally !!!

Never give up.

After just over three months, the little bugger decided to eat a live mouse today. I don't know if it was the scent of leopard gecko, lovebird, my threat to give him to the dogs or just that today was the day. Hopefully this was the turning point and I can get rid of all those margarine tubs of un-nameable material in the freezer.
