bp enclosure questions

I know this isnt maybe the right place for this but since its concerns a BP her it goes :
i made a enclose 100*50*50 ( centimetres, 100 is about 3.3 feet ) ... i put a flower pot upside down and chiped it for an entrance .... and water bowl , lamp, heat source .
what else do i need ? branches ? plants ?
and also he never seems to go to his water bowl is that normal ?
last question : is cork toxic ?

You might want to put another pot for a hide on the other side of the tank. I would put 1 or 2 sticks in there for climbing.

yea i agree..the braches let them get a good vantage point of there enclosure. And you must always have 2 hides+. Have one on the hot side and one on the cool side and if you have the room you can place one in the middle. My bp doesnt go in the dish either unless he is shedding.

another hide, UTH or human heating pad (under the cage). Bp's need belly heat of about 90-95 degree's (ferhinheit *sp?*), and a temp probe on top of the UTH or human heating pad (on the inside of the cage) to tell you exactly how hot it is. and depending on how humid the place you are in, maybe a spray bottle to occasionaly spray the enclosure.

Cork is not toxic, but it is really poreous (sp?) and can get alot of junk in the little holes. You might want to file the hole's edges down so he don't hurt himself (if there are really jagged edges). As long as he is drinking then he is fine. The only time BP's go into their dishs is for shedding or mites (though I'm sure a few go in there just because they like it).

How big (long) is your bp and what size prey are you feeding him/her?
