i use heat lamp. they are at like 30 33 C. but its harder to keep moist u have to spray at least once a day. heat tape would prob be best because would not dry out as fast. the warmer teh faster they hatch and grow. a little over 30 is prime. just make sure teh verm is moist.

its fun watchin thousands of little pins running around the first time all for free

Thanks, I hatched some by accident in my female cresties enclosure. The female crix layed their eggs in my cresties eggbox! LOL. One day i seen these little guys running around. So i thought to myself, this must be easy, but the temps were in the mid 70's but I have no idea how long it took them to hatch.
Thanks

I used to put a couple of egg containers in a bigger rubbermaid and sit them on top of my frillie cage above the bulb and that was enough heat to hatch them in around 7-10 days be sure to mist the soul hope i helped a little good luck lol.

I use a regular heating pad from a drug store on it's lowest setting. I agree, it's hard to keep the humidity up when using a heat lamp from above.

I have a question: What would happen if I kept them in the dark all the time?

Thanks.
