new male children's python

I just got back from Southern Cali a few days ago (been taking a much needed snooze time since I got back) and thought I'd share photos of the snakes I bought while I was down there.

Later on the trip, while in Ventura, I stopped in at Isis Reptiles to visit Mike and his beautiful collection-and bought my male Children's Python.

This guy is a real nipper, but he'll be beautiful when he gets older!

How old is it. If it is a true childrens the spots should fade as it gets older. There is a possibility of it being a spotted python. If it grows over 3 feet you have a spotted. Nice specimen though!

Nice Childreni Chaos cat!!
Chrisandboids:
Not always some Childrens (anatresia childreni) still have clear spotted markings as adults or is that just a certain Australian locality not available overseas????... anyways.. the large majority of them have their spots fade..Cheers

I have a spotted as well and have compared them both. The fact that they are completely different in head shape & scalation (yes, I know my Children's is awfully dark but I think he is getting ready to shed) and that I have seen the parents of my male Children's makes me sure that I have a Children's python.

My female is a "red" Children's. Her spots are a ruddy red in color, whereas the male's are brown. Should make for an interesting pair.

Anyone have pics of an older Children's where the spots have faded? I've been trying to decide between a childrens or a spotted and have been leaning towards the spotted because I keep hearing about the childrens spots fading.
