Any musicians in the house?

If so, what type of instrument do you play/for how long/what type of music?

I've been playing the drums for about 8 years now, mostly into Rock, Metal and Alternative.

I have a couple of pictures as well, i'll try to post them when i get home, for now here's my layout:

Country:
I do not play anything anymore. I started taking guitar lessons when I was 9 years old, stopped when I was 12, resumed again when I got in to grade 10 and became bassist in an all-girl punk band for about a year. Played a little here and there afterwards and eventually stopped. I've been thinking of picking up my lil red Vantage bass again and giving a go... truth be told I don't think I remember anything Oh well, if I can't reteach myself (shouldn't be too hard), I've always got my boyfriend to. He's a guitarist in a punk/industrial band, and can play several different instruments including trumpet.

I play drums too.

I started 3 years ago when I was 28 Never too late.

I play mostly alternative-rock. Anything that makes people go nuts in bars, I love playing live.

Rock on !

I play everything - guitar, drums, bass, vocals.... primarily I'm a singer, and always have been. I'm a better drummer than guitar player, but I haven't been behind a kit in a good long time. But, it's like riding a bike.

Soul Reaper - I love your setup man!!!! What brands do you like? Myself, I like Tama all the way. Looks like you like Ziljian and Paiste cymbals, which is good.... I personally love Sabian crash cymbals and Ziljian rding cymbals/High hat. But I looooooove tama drums.

Hey man! It's good to have another skin basher in the community!!! My only instrument is drums, i suck at guitar and bass...and my singing....well, let's just say my snakes brains would pop if i ever tried to sing around them...lol!

As for the brands, i've played a couple of different brands during my 8 years, started off on Yamaha, went to Tama, Pearl and now DW. I used to have a 6 piece Tama Rockstar back home, those drums ROARED!!! I haven't played any of the high end Tama kits (I.E Starclassic) and such, but from what i've heard, they are phenomenal!

And cymbals, well i have always been a big Zildjian fan, from the start i have always played Zildjian cymbals, because of their affordability and availability, you can find Zildjians everywhere. I have just started on Paiste cymbals actually, they are by far the best cymbals makers in the market, but they are EXPENSIVE as hell and don't come with a warranty, which it sucks. Sabian cymbals are great as well, they have a new line now called METAL X, designed particularly for hard hitters (I.E Metal drummers ) I've read some reviews on them and so far, they've gotten excellent feedback, i still wanna check them out in the future.

What kind of drums do you/did you play? For how long?

As for all the other musicians in here...ROCK ON!

Now that's unusual, for how long have you been playing?

I used to play the clarinet when I was younger. I am seriously thinking about learning how to play the violin. When I was 12, a girl across the street used to play. She would come and play for us sometimes. It was sooo beautiful. It would almost bring me to tears.

The violin and fiddle (yes they are different) are by far some of my favorite instruments to listen to. They are perfect for everything from a melancholy ballad to a high-energy Irish jig.

Ahhh hearing about all these drums makes me jealous. Mine have been in my parents basement for 5 years now. Living in apartments doesn't give me much chance to play drums. Let alone set them up. hehehe

I have an 8 pc tama imperial star kit from sometime in the 70's - double kick of course premier snare, sabian/zildjian cymbals.

I seriously have to get back into playing, I really miss beating the p!ss out of those drums.

I also play guitar/bass and try to sing lol, but it usually doesn't happen unless I'm alone or drunk

Three years ago, i started playing classical, electric and acoustic guitar. I like the classical the most... I'm really into fingerpicking

My favourite instrument must be the vocal chords (if you count those as instruments, that is..) I LOOVE singing to the point that it pisses other people off In class, I'm always singing to myself, at home I'm always singing... basically whenever I'm not doing something extremely exciting,(which is most of the time) then I'm singing. This year, I started taking voice training and not to brag or anything, but I must say.. I'm pretty good for my first year! My teacher is extremely impressed. My range is a little over 5 octives. (Yes, you heard me correctly... FIVE octives!!) Hehe I can't help but brag about it I just have to practise my sound though... I definitely do no have the nicest sound

If I ever stop playing guitar, I would probably like to take up double bass. My old babysitter, Josh, used to play it and he let me try it... it seems like such a fun instrument to play!! When I start highschool, I will also take up trombone.

I can also play recorder (but d'uh.. can't we all? ) and I can play a bit of ukelele. Hehe!

Ah what can I say.. I have a very musical family. My mom is a piano teacher and my dad's a pianist. I brag about my father SOO much, but I mean, if he was your dad, you probably would, too!! He does music for kids tv shows, movies, celebs, the Juste for Laughs Festival, the Jazz festival, and much more. He has also won tons of award but meh... awards don't matter much to me My only sister, Ali, w ho is older than me, plays trombone, cello, and piano. She is in the school Honor Band and does parades as close as montreal and as far as Ontario. I'm so proud of my family!!

My parents were pissed off as hell when they found out that my favourite type of music was singing... they wanted me to be like my sister and play a real instrument... not sing! But naturally, being daddy's little girl, I got my way and started voice training. Yippeee!!!

Wow... after reading what I wrote above, I realize that I've basically been bragging telling everybody about my life. But meh.. I hope you don't mind!!

S.R. : If you're Ukranian, Czechoslovakian or such, it's not that uncommon an instrument to play. I've been playing on and off for over 20 years. Poor me.

I play guitar and write, and record, and sing(har har)... and blow some harp. Used to teach accordian many years ago.
I play mostly blues and folk type crap. I have a couple strats, a Les Paul, and a Hot Rod Telecaster..
I recently bought a palm top digital multitrack... the zoom PS02.
What a fantastic piece of technology...
It's got tons of guitar patches, plus its a drum machine and it plays bass too.... All that and a multitrack with bounce, punch in/out and mixdown effects. It records onto Smart media, then I mix it down into CD
I've recorded an entire album with it, while sitting down!! LOL
The built in mic is fantastic too.
I've got two big Half stack amps a Marshall and a Peavey Class50 and an 800watt PA, but I hardly get time to use them anymore.
I have these slithery things that take up all my time
