I have an African sideneck turtle (Pelomedusa subrufa). There are some pics of him in my gallery. HE grows like a weed and eats anything!!

Is your sideneck one of the ones from port credit?? If so,it is pelusios castaneus..

No it wasn't but I looked it up in a key, and that is what it turned out to be. Yeah they look a lot alike

I thought mine was p. subrufra until it developed the plastron hinge...p. subrufra is the only sideneck in africa lacking the hinge.

Oh ok well nevermind then I stand corrected mine has the hinge thanks for clearing that up. I always like to know the species I have LOL
