is this filter okay?

i bought A whisper 20 gallon filter for my fire bellied toads and newts it filters all tanks , half water half rocks , and ful water it is supposed to filter 20 gallons so i think it will be okay conidering there is only 3 gallons of water in the tank. it sucks up the water, filters it, and water falls it back. please let me know if this is okay, here is a picture of it http://home.comcast.net/~sam_da_man8...D-1109636.html

I'm not sure about the filter sorry, I use a fluval which is an under water filter. I have allot more gravel it goes from about 2/3 - 1/3 of the tank. This gives me a higher water line as well. I wouldn't reccomend keeping 2 species together though. I thought about putting fire belly newts in with my toads and after some research decided against it, check out livingunderworld.com. They have allot of great amphibian info.! The toads are toxic and different species have different pathogens which could be harmful to eachother! Sorry that I couldn't help with the filter. I suppose that if it's working, keeping the water clean and not disturbing the toads enough to cause them stress, I guess that it would be ok. Good luck!
