what do you feed day geckos

well, day geckos are my favorite by far and i am not a fan of crickets. i give them crickets as the main diet with trying different baby foods when ever i can. i was wondering what other people feed they day geckos besides crics, or what kind of fruit mixtures?

Hey,

I have a gold dust (P. laticauda), I feed him as you said crickets and baby food. And I will try small silkworms when I get it. but if you have Giant Day Geckos you could try silkworms or mealworms. I feed mine apracot, or peaches baby food, or a mixture of the two. Your species of Gecko is much bigger than mine so you have more options open to you of what you can feed it. If I were you I would just experiment with different feeders seeing what your geckos like, but I would definitely try silkworms!

Hope I helped a bit

I have kept several species of Day Gecko, and have had many babies from the species I have kept. With all, small or large, crickets should remain a staple.

I also used a honey water mixture that worked quite well for me and wasn't nearly as messy as baby food. I just mix liquid honey and warm water until it is a runny syrup consistancy and would also mix in powdered calcium carbonate.

With the larger species that I have kept, I would occasionally offer pinkies, especially to the females, which were readily accepted.

Best wishes,
