Sweaterbox rubbermaid rack...

<img src="http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/504/22rack_heating.jpg">

Two issues with this rack: Melamine sucks and I would never go with 3" heat tape again. Other than that it serves the purpose well.

Linds, did you use seperate pieces of heat tape for each shelf, or is it one continuous piece that wraps around on the outside of the rack?

And, curious, what is it you don't like about the 3" heat tape?

Cas,
It's just one long piece for convenience, however I have been considering chopping the pieces. The reason I dislike the 3" tape is that it gets much hotter and uses more wattage... 3" outputs 10 watts per foot while 4" outputs only 8 watts and 11" inch only 20 watts.

Jeff,
I'm not sure what the dimensions are off-hand without measuring. It's made from 1/2" thick melamine and holds the 11.3 gallon rubbermaids without much give in heaight or width.

Just a few reasons melamine sucks...

-it chips
-it bubbles
-it is not waterproof
-it is heavy
-if any moisture gets past the coating it falls apart

Sorry the pic above is for 5.83 rubbermaids and holds 44 of them. It's got 4 strips of 11 inch heating tape down the back. I've also got a simmilar one that has 4 inch heat tape on each shelf. Here's some more pics:
