She Strikes Again!!

My BP used to strike at the live rats I fed her. I only fed her live rats a few times when I first got her, and ever since she eats them pre-killed. Someone on the forums, I forgot who, said that their snakes "mosy" up to their food. Well, that's what she does too when they're pre-killed.....except today! I was so shocked when she sprung (and missed) then sprung again!!

I always use hemostats to put the rat in the tank anyway, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a little instinct in her! Her last meal was not that long ago. I guess she simply decided to eat with a little gusto this time!

Haha that happens with Montey. One month she's all docile and friendly with her f/t mice....the next she's a snapper! lol I love it.

I have a corn snake who has never had a live meal in her life. She always took her f/t prey very gently until last month when she started to strike and constrict the f/t mouse. Kind of funny, aren't they?

that is what my cal king did as well...with pinkies he just picked it up and slurped it down in no time, but soon as he went up to fuzzies, he would stike it and even constrict it. now that hes on hoppers, he constricts them for so long, about 45 min before he even starts to locate the nose.
