Exclamation Bull snake wont shed.

My Female hasn't shed since Christmas. I have raised the humidity in her Viv', Bathed her & I mist her regularly. I am worried about what could happen if she doesn't shed soon & I would love to hear from anyone who has any other ideas on what I can do to help her shed.

Before I got her, she was only fed on small mice, now she is on Large Rats.

Her eyes have been looking a little milky for a while now, but no sign of her letting go of her old skin.

Is this going to have any serious effect on her in the future if she doesn't shed soon?

Wayne.

Hi Wayne,
Nice to hear from a fellow Englishman. I was born in Harlow, and we moved to Canada in '69.
But I digress...Your Bull sounds as though he's close to shedding. Usually the eyes will clear a couple of days prior to the event.
I would suggest that when the eyes do clear, that you place the snake in some type of secure ventilated container with a couple of inches of luke-warm water. Allow the animal to soak for several hours. It's even better if you have a warm place to put the snake and container; that way you could let him soak overnight.
Soak the animal for at least a couple of hours each day until it sheds.
If your animal is otherwise healthy, a good soaking should be all that's necessary to help him along.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!

Simon
