75 gallon to big?

hey everyone , i was just wondering if a 75 gallon tank is too big for 2 baby leopard geckos? 2 babies

75 gallons is very big for 2 babies.

I have a 75 gallon i use for my colony of 7 and i could still add more females. Just remember use paper towels until they are at least 6 inches long.

you could easily keep 2 babies in a 10g, 75g is ALOT of extra space, they may have trouble catching food in that

Matt the other matt is right it will be very hard for them to catch their food.

Also to the question you pm ed me about the paper towles. When they are younger and you use Ex. sand, bed n beast, basicly any subtrate you run a very high risk of impactation. So it is advised to wait until they are older to place a form of subtrate in the cage. I place all my hatchlings, juvis, and sub-adults on paper towles. And i use bed a beast for my adults. If you must have a subtrate i would suggest slate you may look at my gallery if you would like to see a pic. It is of a 20 long gallon enclosure. which would be perfect for 2 baby leos all the way through their life. I have a juvi in there. but you can not see her. With the use of slate you don't have to worry about impactation. If you have any questions on the setup of slate you may ask me or alicewave is the one who showed me her setup she also know how to do it.

You can buy it at home depot, lowes, and other stores like that. It's more like a tile. And make sure you have measurements of your cage as you may have to have a piece cut down to make it fit. For exaple my 20 gallon cage is 12" wide and 30" long. the slate comes in 12x12 pieces. so in order for me to remove the tile when cleaning i have 2 full pieces and one cut to 12" by 5" i have 2 sets of these that i put in the cage.

Dragon slave no my slate doesn't overheat at all. It will hold in some of the heat. so you don't have to use a UTH at all. I use a heat lamp with a IR bulb IR=infred bulb.

here is a pic of elektras tank. I put a little bit of bed a beast in her hide. i wouldn't recommend doing that for a baby though.

Oh wow, what a NICE looking cage you've got there! I love the plants, what kinds are they? How heavy does slate make the tank though? And how do you clean it, is it easy to ''spot clean''? Very cool!

It does make the tank heavy. I wouldn't recommend moving the tank without taking the slate tiles out first. I put a square of paper towel in the "defectorium" so it's super easy cleanup. Overall much easier to clean than dumping out sand or some other similar substrate. Lots cheaper too.

As for the babies, I've got my hatchlings in separate shoe-box sized rubbermaids so I can monitor their eating habits.

Dragon Slave the plants are completly fake. I went to a craft store and bought tons of fake plants, then manipulated them into what i wanted. I also cut some of them down to look right in her cage. Cleaned them of course before putting in the cage. And as alicewave said it does make the tank heavy. i designed mine on the floor then went to put it on the desk and was like f$@& this is heavy. LOL. I agree with alicewave also on cleaning it is so much easier.

It's going to save me money in the long run as long as i don't drop and break the slate. Imagine if your like me and use subtrate and change and clean out the cage every 6 months. I spend around 20-30 dollars just on my 75 gallon leo cage so if i were to take that money and go buy some slate ya the first 6 month it would cost a little more but for future cage cleanings i wouldn't be spending a dime. Unless i broke a piece. but thats only $1.50 to replace.
