good choice....glad to see that you are going to research things thouroughly before jumping into new projects. There are alot of knowledgeable people on this site that would be more than willing to give their two cents worth, but at the same time are very protective of their beliefs and their herps. I hope that your ball python project goes well, and make sure to search high and low for info. The internet is loaded with quality information for all species.

Did you get your python today?
Or when you said "I love my BP..." were you just meaning you know your going to love it when you get it?

Thats great man. But I have one question. I just saw your post about how your getting 20 ballpythons and keeping 10 in one cage?? Baaaad idea. i really think this is a bad move for someone whos only exerience is two turtles. That would be a pretty big operation and you will be hammered with money problems. As for keeping 10 in one cage...DONT. I honestly think they should be kept 1 male, 3 females to a cage. So please....dont be a cheap-skate on the housing, If you cant afford to buy 5-7 LARGE rubbermaid containers then you cant afford these guys.

Good to hear man, I do hope that you follow through and try and take things a little slower. Contrary to what other members said about me yesterday, I do wish you the best with your animals and your dreams.
Now here is my piece of advice to you, and, please, this is not meant as an attack on you personally. Start off slow. You have a BP right now. Learn as much as you can about him/her. Read books, look up caresheets on the internet, join a local herp society, whatever you need, there is a wealth of information out there and people to help. Now stick with that one BP for a year... discover his/her personality, eating habits, temperment etc... and once you've got that right, then branch out and get another. I know it's SO tempting to get many animals in the beginning but trust me, they are a lot of work, and they take much dedication. (and not to mention many dollars!) I've been working with herps for much, much longer than you've been alive and I know what you are going through, and I know you want to get as many as you can, but in the long run it's not worth it.
Good luck!
Trace

Whatever shes not sorry she she figured out that we would all be biased twords her for what shes said so she made up so kind of stupid excuse. Personal reasons come on people get real I dont care what they are how would that cause you to open up a horrible pet store. Now I'm glad that you have finally got enough sense to understand you cannot possibly open a pet store at 13. But I'm not buying your excuse. Tell the truth its not that badd your young your immature you got a wild idea that sounded relly kool and you wanted to follow up on it so not realizes all the things against you, you asked us for help[which we gave and thank god you listened]. I'm not blaming you for being young and thats all you did be young in a few mor eyears you'll be maturer. I'm only 15 and I acyed like you until just ealier this year and still do sometimes but when I get wild ideas now I try to work them out and get the goods and badds like me aquatic turtle rescue idea. So I'm happy that you finally realized what you can and cannout do an dyou may be going through stressful times[at 13 how could you not be] but dont blame your brash ideas on that. Tell the truth it shall set you free!!!

BP13-what a day! Sorry that we weren't more supportive of you yesturday, had I been here I would have helped you out.
Regardless of any creature you may want you always have to keep THEIR best interest at heart. Remember, these are living beings, not something to 'produce'. Leave the breeding to people who know what they're doing JUST until you can keep your new pets alive first!
You may not want to hear this, but Chameleons are very difficult to keep in captivity. We all know how inexpensive they've become, and how accessible they are but that does not make them good beginners. If you really want something that's tough, tolerates handling, eats live foods, etc. then go with Leopard Geckos. I know, that at your age, it seems like everyone and their grandma owns one, but there is a reason for their popularity! They are cute, relatively intelligent (in reptile-terms), easy to care for, personable, etc.! I'm sure most people here would agree that LG's are a great beginner lizard.
I want to write so much more here, because I wasn't online yesturday to respond to some of the questions you had, but if you ever need a question answered, and don't want to put it on the site, (which is understandable), just e-mail me (SambasReptileRescue@Hotmail.Com). I do my best to help you out, and since I care about reptiles and their owners there will not be any mockery. I must say, some of the things I've read really dissappointed me.
Good Luck, BP and please, update us and let us know how things are progressing!

Cyberghost don't say that! BP13 is just appologizing for acting rash, would you rather he not come back and not listen and get some chams and keep them in rubbermaids? Do you always reject people's appologies like that?

Cyberghost - Do you have proof he/she is lying? Nope, say he isnt, after what you just said he is prolly very upset. Keep a bashing or something like that to yourself or in a PM not on a public forum.
BP - Hey no sweat man! AN appology is always a great way to wipe the slate clean.

I don't think BP13 was saying that personal problems would have caused him to open the petstore (we've all had that idea, right?), but it was more like stress that caused him to react so strongly (and negatively, for the most part) when we told him it wasn't a good idea to go through with at this time in his life.

Exactly! You don't have to like BP13, so either don't post or restrict your negative comments to PMs, otherwise it does become everyone's business.
I hope you can change your perspective on life and people in due time.

I think Trace put it best. Start off slow and work your way up. It takes many years to learn how to properly care for many animals at once. I have 5 snakes and trust me ITS A HAND FULL!!! Zoe has 12!!!!! I dont know how she does it...... I spend at least an hour or an hour and a half each day caring for them. Holding all of them. Making shure they have clean water every day. Making shure all their cages are clean enough for them. Checking temps and tweaking mt thermestats. And the list goes on!!!! So start with one and wait for a while. Thats what i did and im shure what most people did here. Good luck man!!!

No, I want her to come back but I dont think she should lie about the reason she acted a certain way and I do know shes lying. I'm not madd her for what she said hir I'm madd her because she actually wanted to open a pet store with out obviosly knowing anything about reptiles. WHat if she wouldt have come to this site think of all the herps that would have been dameged!!! Then when we tried to help them& her she refused us and insinuated that we were all the wrong one. I personaly care mor efor animals then I do for anyone on this site or in the world. It angers me very much just to think of the pain that those herps would have endured and I realize that message probly didt belong here. My anger got the best of me. So I am sorry for that, btu not sorry for what it said. So in all I support the fact she wants to open a pet store but if she is she needs to do it right for the herps not herself. I'm sorry for my rude post but what I said is true I have no problem with her at all as long as she from now on keeps the best intrest of herps in mind before herself!!!
