Yeah, the world record is FAR higher than 40 hours. My boyfriend and I hit 30 hours like piece of cake once a month because of his crazy schedual.
30 hours is nothing, and 40 is quite a bit more, but neither are a world record.

Yeah the things that start happening after 40 hours are quite interesting. At 25 hours a second energy burst hits, but I am not sure if there is another after that. I know that approaching 30 hours I start feeling sick to my stomach.

I don't know about straight but I have some weeks were I only manage about three to four hours a night. This current one has lasted over a week now. I don't feel so good. Getting it all over with at once almost sounds better! You would think excercise would help but I did 24 km on my bike the other day and still couldn't get a full nights sleep! Good luck with your record, but if you can sleep, I suggest doing it.

the longest i have been up was five days in iraq, but you have to remember that it was not just a regular daily schedual, i was fighting and up for five days so it took a bigger toll on my body.
i dont recommend staying up longer than a day though because your reaction time and mental awareness take a s*** and you
make bad decisions.
