Adopt-a-reptile

If you or anyone you know has any unwanted reptiles healthy or sick,please contact me at drpardalis@yahoo.com. I am willing to pay shipping costs,and give regular updates on health how he/she is doing, even send pictures if requested. I have a wide array of reptiles and plenty of room and experience to care for and house more. My counterpart and I are dedicated to preserving and caring for reptiles, captive and wild. Here are just a few reptiles we house and care for: Uromastyx,Bearded Dragon,Panther Chameleon,Ornate Horned frog,Red tail boa,Demeril boa,Blood Python,Albino Burmese Python(12ft)and many more. i wanna start reptile rescue except i don't know where to get started and i think there is enought people in calgary doing it. oh well

I would think - correct me if I'm wrong - but having ONE contact for reptile rescue in Alberta would be a smart idea. Just my opinion, but, I personally would be wary of an individual offering rescue services (maybe they are just aquiring cheap animals to turn a profit? etc). I would be more willing to give up an animal to a group that has approved caregivers. I think it would also give a better picture of reptile abuse/neglect and the needs the TARAS and The Edmonton Reptile and Amphibian Society have to address.

Oh, and then it would be in the better interest of the animal to be placed with someone who actually has experience with the species - especially when resuces often require the extra care.
