Color changing?

Hey, I know that most blood python start to turn red a little after a year old, but if they are the yellow type when do they start changing? Or are they born yellow? The reason I am asking is my blood python is 6 or 7 months old and his tail is starting to get kind of yellowish (not the black part but the brownish part). I tried to get a pic but it came out more dark then reality. Here it is...

Thanks for any help.

I guess it is popping up more on the sides then the top. And do blood's heads darken with age? Mine had such a nice light tan head but it is turning darker.

Adam, you just kinda have to go with the flow when it comes to the colour change of bloods.
Just because there nice hatchlings, doesn't mean there not going to be ugly adults..and vice versa. Nothings really concrete about there colours as far as what to expect.
However, that blood you have looks really good!
very bright yellow, as well, that yellow on its sides will probably creep up the sides more within the next couple of years, as i have noticed that occuring alot in bloods.
There heads can go under a colour change, however, i have adults here that change there head from black to silver all the time. kind of freaky if you ask me...lol.

The majority of bloods have black tails, and any colour change that your snake will go through will usually start from the tail upward, especially the yellow.

Again, grat looking blood python!

Thanks very much! I'll be happy with him no matter what color he turns out to be, though a nice bright yellow would be very nice
