Baby corn snake soaking?

Hello!

I recently acquired my first corn snake. And though it's eating well, its first shed was kind of unusual. Though it seemed like all of its skin came off, after closer inspection, I noticed that there is still loose skin on the snake's belly.

My question is, should I take him out of his enclosure and soak him to get all the dead skin off, or just leave him alone, since he's still just a baby and not fully used to his new home? Wouldn't that stress him out too much?

Since it is eating well, personally I think I would soak him to get the rest of the skin off. You may also want to raise the humidity or add a humidity box into his enclosure if this sort of shedding happens again.

Thank you. I did exactly that and the shed came off completely. I guess I really need more humidity. Aspen substrate doesn't seem to hold it as well as I thought.

Yeah, I had a similar problem with my kingsnake using aspen substrate. I ended up switching to a bioactive setup. I used some Eco Earth or maybe Reptisoil mixed with Forest Floor for the substrate. I may have had a little sphagnum mixed in as well. Anyway, I've had much better sheds ever since.
