What do you keep your humidity at?

Online seen a few different numbers. Sunglow boa. I've seen that they need 70%, others are saying between 50-60%. Anyone know what's correct?

Also, when the tank heats up during the day humidity drops, then increases again at night. I am misting, once in the early morning to get humidity up and once again at dusk. Trying to simulate early morning and sunset showers. Is this correct? New at this so still experimenting.

Thanks

Re: What do you keep your humidity at?

I don't worry about humidity much with any of my snakes. I live in GA and it's fairly humid here anyway but my humidity has ranged from 30%-60% and I've never had a bad shed or RI. I may occasionally mist a cage if an animal is in shed, or just to simulate a little rain once in awhile, but that's a rarity. As long as your snake has constant access to fresh water they should be ok. Hydration is far more important than ambient humidity imo.

So boas don't really need humidity? It just helps them shed? She has access to a fresh water bowl all day every day.

Re: What do you keep your humidity at?

I know BRBs and some tree boas have pretty high humidity requirements but I think humidity requirements are overblown for many snakes. It's not something I pay much attention to. I've had a pretty wide humidity range and no issues with any of my snakes.
