Rainbow Boa Questions

Hello all, I am new to this site and I am also a new Rainbow Boa owner. I just had a few questions regarding the species, I am familiar with boas, and pythons as I have kept snakes my entire life. The biggest question I have is how to identify Brazilian Rainbow from a Colombian or Venezuelan Rainbow boa. Prehaps there is no different and I am totally off base. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Rainbow Boa Questions

The difference is huge, brazilian rainbow boas get a good bit larger, and are red with black patterning. Colombian rainbow boas are smaller and brown, and typically by the time they're an adult they've lost almost all pattern. Venezuelan rainbow boas I don't know much about however it seems like they're also brown but might keep their patterning a little better than colombians. Care between BRB's and CRB's is pretty much identical, BRB's will need more space and are a little more sensitive to higher temps and low humidity.

This photo belongs to a member here with the user name "McCarthy Boas" this is an adult male brazilian.

This is my photo, this is a pair of adult colombian rainbow boas going on 6 years old. Male is in my hand, female is curled up. She's about 4.5 ft

So based on this image https://m.imgur.com/gallery/2HppRkP it would appear that I have a true Brazilian Rainbow.
