Boa and rat

Hello, on the Internet found an article where the author Scott Bobak claims that the boa constrictor kills the rat for a minute, on other videos the fight goes 5 minutes and how do you think for how long does the boa manage?

Re: Boa and rat

Is there a particular reason you need to know exactly how long it takes? I've never fed my boas live, but when my bp ate live, it took him upwards of 10+ minutes to constrict and begin eating.

If it's to feed live, I'd suggest feeding fresh killed or frozen-thawed. Much safer for the snake, and less stressful for the prey.

Re: Boa and rat

Thanks for the answer, I live corn snake and I feed frozen mice. I think the time of the fight depends on the condition of the boa constrictor, young or old, wild boa or domestic?
