Reptile Sausages for Feeding
Has anyone here ever used Reptilinks cased feeding products for their snakes? They use whole rabbits, whole quail, frog legs, whole iguana or whole guinea fowl and make sausage-like links to feed snakes.
I'm not sure what the benefit would be except maybe storage would be easier than whole rodents.

Better not use, don't know what was added into those... just look at sausages for human consumption, its the biggest trash food you can possibly eat. Ie- there's no way for you to see the quality of whole food added into those.

Re: Reptile Sausages for Feeding
They are fine... they're whole prey. Nothing added to the rabbit, venison, frog, mouse, rat links.
There are definitely two camps: people who love them and use them, and people who don't care for them. I've used them extensively for my carpet pythons and my growth rates increased, and my cost of feeding went down. Personally, I'm in the first group.
My best advice, do your own research and pick the method best suited for your animal, and not let either camp sway you.

Re: Reptile Sausages for Feeding
I've never used them, but have heard good and bad. However, the most frequent topic I've heard them discussed in is feeding tricky juvenile hognose. From what I gather they can be great for getting a finicky snake started on food after a strike or in the case of the hognose a juvenile who won't eat otherwise. I did read that they can be tricky to switch OFF the links once they've accepted them.
But....that's just second hand knowledge, so take it however you may. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Re: Reptile Sausages for Feeding
I've thought about using them for my garter at one point since they have no fur

Re: Reptile Sausages for Feeding
Viperkeeper has used the sausages in one or two of his videos when feeding his neonates...but he also feeds beef heart to his young ones as well due to the density of the muscle and the amount of protein available from the meat.

Aaron...you should check out Nick Helble’s video on YouTube. He had some very detailed instructional videos that are pretty helpful. I’ve spoken to him several times and has always been very willing to communicate/assist.

Will do! Thanks buddy! I'm interested in trying them out on my colubrids.
