Utilizing the height of a big enclosure

I am now in the process of building a big wooden enclosure for my boa constrictor imperator. It will be a high one. To utilize the height i like to install 2 wooden boards inside the enclosure on differant corners. I am not sure how to do that. If i use screws i am worried that i might damage the enclosure and the wooden board won,t be able to bear the weight of a large snake and it would break up. Is it possible to install such wooden boards inside a wooden enclosure in which they can bear the weight of a large snake? What other ways are availabe other than installing wooden boards, in which i could utilize the height of the enclosure? It will be a 4,60 feet high (55 inch).

You just need to brace the board/shelf with some timber underneath, coming down from the outer edge of the board back to the enclosure wall. If you install the boards in the corners, 2 timbers per board should hold it.

Yes it makes sense. But still i have to attach the board to the enclosure, how do i do that? the only way i could think of is using screws and cordless screwdriver. I have to screw the screws from the outside of the enclosure into the inside where the board is, so the screws will go inside the board and attached it to the enclosure. If i was wrong correct me please. If i was right, its hard to screw the screws from outside the enclosure into the inside of the board because you might miss the board and the screw might go above or underneath it. I hope i am able to explain what i mean. Or using glue without screws would be ok?

I have just found online a special glue für enclosures. Designed for such works. I think using it to attach the board to the enclosure would be better than screws and drilling holes.

Right angled brackets under the board should hold it, along with any glue you use. You could also pre-drill some small holes for screws, fix the board over the holes with the brackets, then screw into the holes. That way you won't miss the board.

Wood glue is stronger than any screw, the screws just hold it while it's drying lol.
