Re: Just off to the snake shop.
So here we are - nothing spectacularly rare but surprisingly difficult to get over in the UK. Demand is very high and not many people are breeding them.
This is a nicely grown on CB16 female. As I say I was tipped off by the store owner on this one and got her for an excellent price.
Really pleased to have this in my collection...

Yep - a very lovely MBK. Apparently (and I didn't know this until I bought her) the speckling on her sides is quite rare. Happy to hear of people's thoughts on this as it's not something I've been told before.

Re: Just off to the snake shop.
I don't know much about MBKs, I just have a banana Cali king, but from my understanding most if not all are indeed solid black.

Re: Just off to the snake shop.
MBKs are usually solid black but some will have a little speckling. Either way yours is a pretty handsome critter.

I'm not bothered either way - just hadn't heard it before.
And thanks - I'm a very happy camper

Re: Just off to the snake shop.
They're very fun snakes Danny. The one I had took her food from the tongs harder than any of my other snakes even though she was much smaller.

Re: Just off to the snake shop.
What I like about this particular specimen is that she also has pigment in her eyes, makes her face really pop Mine's just all black (actually very dark chocolate, they are never actually black), also the eyes. Also nice, but not different.

I hadn't noticed that! Shows how observant I am. I think she'll stay in quarantine and the straight into brumation so I'll have plenty of time to work on her viv. I know how I want it so just a case of putting it together.

Re: Just off to the snake shop.
Speckling isn't common, but it's not all that uncommon either. She is beautiful. Love that sleek, glossy piano black on a snake. Nothing quite like it. You scored a good one!
