Most books are old... husbandry advances quite fast, even for species that have been kept in captivity for a long time. Research is ever evolving as well as wild life observation technology.
It's better to information for actual keepers that are up to date about latest advances then from a book.
Same for caresheets on the internet which are for a large part copy-paste & reword from a few sources and not kept up to date.
Especially if you are looking beyond basic care (=xyz bedding, water bowl, 2 hides, a lamp on a stat for x temp, and drop in a mouse every once in a while), it can be a real challenge to find good information.
